Die Dorffeier 2008 fand am 19. Juli statt :

"In this year, the village party was organized under the title "Painted Houses". The idea was to reconstruct an old, neglected cottage, by repainted them. In the matter of fact, on one of the walls, we painted the door and windows. We tried to restore the beauty of this old cottage. We also tried to show that originally village was also colour. By the way, I would ask the old inhabitants of Schlawin if they remember what were the colours of cottages, windows, shutters, details.

Besides, there was a plastics competition for kids who painted their own vision of Słowino cottages. They prepared some souvenirs from paper, clay and stone. Kids also were looking for old doors and windows In the village.

A potter teached the traditional pottery.

A medieval warrior with his wife presented weapons and tools, and also prepared some competitions (javelin throw, a crossbow contest).

As usually on such village party, there was a folk ensemble.

There were also a lot of competitions. Local housekeepers prepared delicious traditional dishes, especially noodles with many different fillings.

The party and dances lasted till dawn. Unfortunately the midnight rain changed the village party into something like Woodstock festival.

A very important event was the opening of the art gallery Mizumi in Feicht`s farm (house Nr 75/76, old Schmidt farm)."

Herr Horst HYLLA mit seiner Ehefrau und Verwandten waren im Juni dieses Jahres in Pommern und haben die neu aufgebauten alten deutschen Gräber des Lapidariums in Słowino freundlicherweise fotografiert.

Ich war bereits zweimal in Polen, jedes Mal in Krakau : 1994 für meine BWL-Diplomarbeit über die Strategie der französische Hotelgruppe Accor in Ost- und Zentraleuropa und 1999 auf Hochzeitsreise. Damals gab es noch wenige Leute, die Französisch, Deutsch oder Englisch sprachen.

Um unsere nächste Reise nach Pommern bestens vorzubereiten, nehme ich Polnischunterricht. Danaben noch die Assimil-Methode, die ich auf CD's im Auto zuhören kann damit sich mein Ohr an die neuen Töne schneller gewöhnt.
